Mesa Wants You to Be Remarkable

by Tak Hikichi on November 5, 2009

One of the most frequently asked questions I receive being online is how to rank highly in search engines. People believe there has to be some way to beat the competitor, and if you can figure it out, Google will bless them with more customers, right?

My belief in SEO or search engine optimization is unconventional. I don’t believe organizations should be looking for ways to outrank others in search engines through a quick fix.  Instead, I believe organizations should be cultivating something that others will want to talk about.

Here is the truth — if you create awesome content, useful articles, and helpful resources, others will link you. This naturally pushes your site to rise in search engine results. In fact, social networking world of digital community will help spread news worthwhile marketing on your behalf.

Do your organizations know how to help people?  Can anyone benefit from your knowledge? If you have something worthwhile sharing, let others spread story about you.

So, think about these things.  When it comes to your organization, what it is that you do better than anyone else you know? — can you delight your customer with your ability to do _____ ?  Can you overwhelm someone with your ability to do _____ ?

Fill in the blank and you’ll find others linking to your story, let the community handle from there.

Here is what you can do to create a remarkable story about your organization — step outside the box and ignore your competition, do something so great people will be overwhelmed, and they don’t want to live without you.

If you can get that figured out, I promise you’ll gain popularity in organic search engine ranking. Mesa needs your organization to be great. In fact, so remarkable that others can’t help but to find you everywhere.
