First Step to Becoming an Agent of Change

by Tak Hikichi

It’s interesting as the football season arrives, all the guys at work start talking about it.  Suddenly, I am starting to connect with people whom I have seen before, yet never spoken with.  Now we have something in common and we’ll exchange a few words as we greet.

If you are an agent for change, you can do the same.  You can connect with others with the same passion and interest as yours and share ideas.  If they resonate with you, you can ask them to spread your idea, until all of the sudden, the idea becomes greater than you.

Can you find people at work who might be as passionate about whatever you care?  Perhaps non-profits causes, volunteerism, toast masters … whatever.  Once you find people who have the same passion as yours, give them a t-shirt, hat, screen saver or whatever others notice it.  As you become visible, others will notice your movement.   As you do this, your ideas spread — be visible and others will notice you.
