OK, I admit that I wasn’t at her concert last night in Mesa. But I knew the whole time it was going well.
Why?
There were people live tweeting from the concert.
To see everyone who mentioned @jeweljk, you can use Search feature of Twitter.
But the highlight of it all was when I tweeted to Jewel. I asked if anyone was going to Jewel’s concert in Mesa, AZ. Then Jewel picked up my tweet.
Then she responded to see if I needed a ride. What if I said yes? Well, I missed the tweet while at Amazing Jake with my family, fulfilling the promise with my son that I would take him for a go-cart ride. But you can read her tweet here.
The astonishing thing is now we can connect directly with high profile individuals with the use of Social Media.
It used to be that if I wanted to here what Shaquille O’Neil had to say or Sherrif Joe Arpaio said, it was through the filter media built.
Those days are long gone.
While many people think Twitter is “stupid”, others adopt the medium and leverage it to communicate with people matter to them.
It’s not Twitter that’s interesting – if you think it is, Twitter will be certainly “stupid”.
But, what people do with Twitter that’s interesting.
Good news is it’s entirely up to you to make Twitter communication interesting. But if you’re hoping for Twitter to make things more interesting for you so you start paying attention to it, it won’t happen.
